sunday outing

we went to the mountains yesterday;
it was a good, family day
{ a rarity lately }

~~~~~
it's a school holiday today.
son and his friends are playing with his playmobil in his room.
i'm enjoying some me-time;
trying to decide if i pick up a book or a hook-
probably both - not simultaneously!
~~~~~

i've been reading your words, looking at your pictures
but haven't been commenting much
as blogging time is really limited.

~~~~~~
thanks for stopping by!
take care!
february
{calendar bought here }
~~~~~~
welcome february!
I love you so much!
it doesn't matter that you came to me with fever and aches to my whole body;
I forgive you.
you know why?
~ because you'll bring me my love. oh, yes you will - sooner or later.
~ you'll also bring promises of spring (I have the first shoots to prove it)
~ I expect lots of little parcels from you (etsy love + friends' love)
~ longer days come with you, right?
~ how about some sunshine? do you promise to stay as sunny as today? if only...
welcome february!
I've been waiting for you; I'm ready for you.

December 17th - grateful for...

{ snow }

(schools are closed today)
~~~~~~~
Snow Towards Evening
Suddenly the sky turned gray,
The day,
Which had been bitter and chill,
Grew soft and still.
Quietly
From some invisible blossoming tree
Millions of petals cool and white
Drifted and blew
Lifted and flew,
Fell with the falling night.
December 11th - grateful for ...
{ central heating }
Forms of central heating have been discovered that date back to the time of the Greeks - despite the Mediterranean climate - but it was the Romans who created the system which allowed properties and water to be heated, Mr Geoghegan claimed.
Later, in Victorian Britain, households experimented with different ways of heating the home but it was not until 1970 that gas fitter Martyn Jarvis claims he first saw central heating really taking off.
"There was a sense of excitement. It was like getting the first colour television - 'Ooooh, I've got central heating'," he explained.
Limestone and Fir Trees 1
Hello lovelies!
I'm back with pictures from our 11-day stay at
Konitsa, Epirus in my beautiful country
Greece!
(follow the link for a map and if you have time click on some more links)
This is the first set of mosaics- it's been sooooo hard to choose from over 500 pictures!
(don't forget to click on the images!)
I've been reading your blogs every day but always in a hurry;
so sorry for not leaving any comments!
I'll try to make some posts with details of what's in the pictures.
Take care!
2010- January
Hello my dear friends!
Hope you all had a relaxing holiday
and you're full of strength and optimism
for the New Year.
* * *
The stone bridge in the picture is about 200 metres away
from the bed and breakfast we stayed at during our trip
(no snow though)
More about that when I've been through piles of
dirty clothes,
old toys to be sorted out,
new toys to find a place,
christmas decorations and tree to be put away...
* * *
Have a Healthy, Happy New Year everyone!
Looking forward to talking to you soon!
December!
What do you do when you're on the verge of insanity?
No!
That's not a rhetorical question;
I do want an answer!
Here's what I've found particularly soothing:
a cup of hot chocolate... a good book (or two)...
making Christmas ornaments...
(I'll show you the end product when they're ready)
making Christmas cards...
learning how to crochet
(this could actually make things worse if I allowed myself to be discouraged - but I haven't- and
Yes! Feel free to laugh all you want; I know there are so many mistakes!
So glad if I made you smile! You're welcome!)
watching my favourite film
and dreaming
I could own a little shop like that
one day...
I must admit
all these cosy, homey, seamingly trivial things
have brightened my days.
The last days of November were stress-loaded.
December is a very comforting month, though.
Thank you all for stopping by. I do appreciate each and every one of you and am excited to get to know you little by little through your blogs and e-mails.
HAVE A WONDERFUL, BLESSED NATIVITY MONTH!
