Generation Gap?

Lucy is a teenager.
Regarding age, she could be my daughter.
I'd love to have a teenage daughter, especially if she were like Lucy.
But she's not my daughter; not even my niece, student or my best friend's daughter.
She's my friend.
She's my blog-buddy.
She leaves sweet, thoughtful comments on my blog
and either I don't remember how it is to be 14
or she's a very mature teenager.

On the other hand,
there are some lovely women here in blogland
who could be my teachers or my mum's friends.
I always read what they have to say carefully,
whether on their own blogs or on mine,
and they're my friends, too.
* * * * *
In this wonderful community,
where everyone is friendly and supportive,
there are no generation gaps;
we're all on the same side.

The picture shows the contents of a parcel Lucy has sent me.
Thank you my youngest friend!

You are so right - I find it hard to realise that Lucy is still not yet and adult she is so mature and the fact that she is interested enough to visit my blog and comment too I find amazing as I am an old codger old enough to be her granny if not her great-granny! It's great that age doesn't enter into blog friendships nor class, culture, religion, nationality nor anything we are all "friends" together. Now wouldn't it be wonderful if we could get the politicians of the world to blog and make friends like we have?!!

That's exactly what I love about bloggerville! I feel I have made so many friends whose 'company' I feel like i enjoy every time I visit their blog. Lucy is just lovely and I often forget she is young enough to be my daughter! I am so glad I found this wonderful place, it has really changed my life.

Thank you Yiota for showing my things and for such lovely comments. I have enjoyed making new blogging friends and I find you all so interesting and friendly and I think I am lucky to have friends that visit my blog.
P.S. My written english has improved since I started blogging so I am practicing my school work as well!!!

Another irony in our worlds crosses!

Husband just said last night, "It's like you all have a little support group" when I was telling him about the locked-in key stories and macaroon recipes I'd received in response to my post on Monday.

I think Lucy is DEFINITELY more mature than I was at 14!

Here's another thought, maybe Lucy's mom/parent/guardian should start a blog so I can learn how to raise a child to be like Lucy if I ever have one ;)

Yes, I was thinking the same things lately...how this blogging world has opened doors to all generations and all parts of the world. It's BELISSIMA!!!

Such pretty presents! How fun to receive such a package! I know what you mean...it does seem that here in "blogland" our common denominators unite us ... when in "real life", our differences (AND our distances!) would be more likely to divide us. Pretty neat!

That is sooo sweet... I could just cry this is so lovely, Yiota. What sweet treats from your young friend. I think love and friendship are beyond age. I am just turned 37 years old, and my husband is 10 years older than I am. And a very dear friend of mine is in her 60's. And "real life" and "online life" are both the same...a friend is a friend where face-to-face or in cyberspace. :o) Happy Day, my friend ((HUGS))

What beautiful things Lucy has sent to you. I know that a variety of age groups visit me, but I never thought there might be one as young as Lucy. That is wonderful and so inspiring to know that we can all learn from one another ~ no matter how young or old we may be.
