Limestone and Fir Trees 1

Hello lovelies!
I'm back with pictures from our 11-day stay at
Konitsa, Epirus in my beautiful country
Greece!
(follow the link for a map and if you have time click on some more links)
This is the first set of mosaics- it's been sooooo hard to choose from over 500 pictures!
(don't forget to click on the images!)

I've been reading your blogs every day but always in a hurry;
so sorry for not leaving any comments!
I'll try to make some posts with details of what's in the pictures.

Take care!

SO MUCH set stone...wow -- just imagine how much time & patience all that took. Can't help but wonder who all has walked there before :)

I can see why you miss it so. Love the way you have produced the mosaics of pictures too.

Beautiful, Yiota! I especially love the castle. I can see the photography bug has bitten you! Welcome to the club of photo-obsession. :)
Wonderful job in photoshop too.
Welcome back, looking forward to sharing another year with you in friendship.

I'd love to post them at the same time! How about Friday, a week from today? I think they are so lighthearted and fun-- very "Friday" material!

The carnival sounds like fun. I love knowing about traditions like those. I guess it's kind of like Mardis Gras here or Carnivale in Italy. I have participated in those two before. But, here Mardis Gras is only big around New Orleans, Lousiana and Mobile, Alabama and parts of coastal Mississippi. In those areas, kids get the whole week off from school and lots of adults take off from work to celebrate. For some reason, the rest of the U.S. does not acknowledge it, and now that I am typing this I am wondering why?!?!?! Funny how you never question something like that until you tell another person about it :)

I don't really like Mardis Gras, either. It's so full of debauchery! Debauchery makes me feel icky, even if I'm not technically taking part.
