you know I learned to crochet this year.
I love it and have a crochet project in progress;
but summers in Greece are too hot to work with yarn.
Meanwhile, I've been drooling over several sewing projects I've seen in blogland, quilts included.
So, how do I quench my creative thirst?
Well,
ta-daaaah!
my first ever (apart from the lining for the crochet bag, that is) sewing project:
a baby quilt!!!
even more because it's for a special baby-to-come (not mine, by the way)...
well, all babies are special, but you know what I mean.

I've never quilted but am slowly being sucked in by the beautiful work I see on others' blogs. If the things you mention make the hobby easier and even more enjoyable, then get them :-)
Love your quilt - the baby ('s mother) will love it!
It's brilliant Yiotta - you ae clever! Do you mean those green self healing cutting mats? Together with a rotary cutter and an acrylic ruler they do make cutting out easier and more accurate - not that I am a patchwork fan but I have tried! Check out this web site for them.

well done! i am planning a quilt myself. do you mean a cutting board?
Thank you, Jane! Great help!
Oh, that is so cute. What a lucky baby. I would say you definitely have a future as a quilter.
You've made an adorable baby quilt! Yes, you should definitely keep it up.
The green mats and rotary cutters are excellent time-savers and keep edges straight and true. I always use these.
I'm looking forward to seeing more of your designs.
Kudos on a job well done! That's really cute!!
Well done! It's lovely.
