December 17th - grateful for...

{ snow }

(schools are closed today)
~~~~~~~
Snow Towards Evening
Suddenly the sky turned gray,
The day,
Which had been bitter and chill,
Grew soft and still.
Quietly
From some invisible blossoming tree
Millions of petals cool and white
Drifted and blew
Lifted and flew,
Fell with the falling night.
Same here this morning! Love the poem it makes snow sound like something to be welcomed and not just a nuisance.
I'm anxiously awaiting our first significant snowfall of the season - which I gather may happen this weekend! I imagine that by the end of winter we will have had enough! But there's just something really special about snow at Christmas time :)
Yeah for a Snow Day! Should it have been your last day of school before the holidays?
