late at night

saturday night, past midnight;
i should probably go to bed - little one is ill so i'll be waking up regularly to check on him; the alarm clock is set for 4a.m. so he can get his medication. fingers crossed he won't have a temperature.
yes, i should definitely go to bed. but no.
it's one of those nights when you feel you want more hours before the day finishes; you need time for you.
have you ever felt like that?

have you ever thought of sleep as a waste of time?
i love sleeping; oh, i really do! but how on earth can i sleep, when there's the ice-skating championship on tv - beautiful people dancing gracefully on ice to unbelievable music; swoon!
how can i sleep when there is fabulous yarn to be turned into rows and rows of
cosiness; isn't crocheting therapeutic?

and don't get me started on the books on my bedside table!!!
ah, yes! sleeping is good, sleeping is great... but there's always tomorrow-
after all, tomorrow is sunday; i'm sure i can catch a little nap while the children's shows are on!!!

now, if you'll excuse me, i'll go watch some talented people twirling, while adding another row to my blanket.
~~~~
have a great sunday everyone!
PS. pictures taken on wednesday, the only sunny day of the week.
I love the way the winter sun creeps into our homes at this time of year, illuminating small corners and bringing warmth for a few fleeting moments - your photos really show that beautifully.
Wishing your little one a speedy recovery Yiota.
When my daughter was little sleep was the most important thing in my world as I didn't get enough of it ever! Love your photos and hope you enjoyed the ice dancing - I used to do a bit of that when I was young!
I hope your son will be feeling better very soon.
If working on crochet while watching the ice dancing helps you relax, then I hope you did that! But I would guess that you soon grew sleepy :)
I know exactly what you mean. Oftentimes I know I really should go to bed but there's too much still to interest me.
I hope your little boy is feeling better now.
(By the way, I've completed my interview with Kim - better late than never ;-))
I do feel that way sometimes!
That's the reason I often stay up way too late. There are just so many interesting things to do, and so much "me" time to enjoy!
Hope your son is feeling better today.
Oh my God! That's exactly how I feel! I love sleeping, but it's such a waste, especially late at night when the whole family is sleeping and you have all the quite time to yourself to do things that you enjoy doing! It's such a treat! Perastika ston gioka sou!
Exactamunde! This may be why I've been a raging insomniac lately. So much goodness to absorb ;) plus there's peace in the house to enjoy ;) hope all's well Yiota.
