Pink Thoughts

Wednesday afternoon.
I was comfortably sitting on my sofa with my coffee and freshly-baked cake and some rare and precious peace around the house, thinking of my Pink Post for today. I had run out of pink clothes, products, flowers, cartons for crafts and since I could think of nothing, I decided I'll sleep on it in case some brilliant idea was sent to me by Morpheus (you know, the ancient Greek god of sleep).
So I took my book -the one Sarah sent me; see previous post - and thought of taking advantage of the silence before it was too late. As I opened the book, I saw it. There it was, right before my eyes: my Pink Post.
What's better than reminding you ladies to do your regular check-ups through a depiction of a laid-back afternoon with a good book for as many years as humanly possible?
Take Good Care of You!

PS. Thank you all for your warm wishes on my birthday. It was a sad day as it was my first birthday without my mum. There was a birthday cake my wonderful husband bought for me and the three people of my little family (hubby, little one and me) blew my number 40 candle together.

It is poignant that your mum's death means a year of anniversaries without her, for the first time. Bless you.
PS Ladies check up always seem to be pink!

Yiota, I lost my mother 12 years ago (heart) and I miss her every day. The first year without her was indeed the hardest...every occasion we celebrate but most specifically our birthday -- that day that our mother was so significant in our lives above all others.

I read your comment on my blog and my heart just goes right out to you. I remember so many daughters and sons sitting with their parents in the chemo suite. Wanting to do something, wanting to make it all go away and feeling powerless. But I want you to know -- that your mother loved having you there. You didn't need to "do" anything for her, other than love her and be there to hold her hand. Your presence will have been more than enough. I know that in my heart and in my soul.

Sending you so many blessings and quite a few ((((hugs)))).

A timely reminder... thank you. Sorry I missed your Birthday but sending you very warmest wishes now! A landmark day for several reasons - I hope it was a good one (despite the sadness of it being your first without your mum) and that it heralds the start of a very good year... :)
