at the city centre? physically, yes - mentally, no!

Going to the city centre
~ by bus
~ in the summer
~ for boring paperwork business...
is simply out of the question...
unless...
...
...
there's some kind of lure;
for me that's two words: shopping + coffee.
...
...
So once the boring business was out of the way,
I got myself some eye-candy (see picture below)
and headed towards my favourite cafe.
It's on the first floor (second if you are in the States)
on the busiest street,
and there are plants on the windowsills to keep the city out!

I know the pictures are lame - I took them with my mobile- but I wanted to show you this little poem that was written with pencil on the windowsill; apparently, this girl saw someone she liked there and started going back again and again in case he appeared too but she had no luck and expressed her disappointment by writing a poem there. The last line is:

"I came...where are you?"

The cafe has a collection of books and magazines if you want to read something while you're there -I did prefer my magazines though today-
and often hosts art exhibitions.
Today, I found these wonderful flower paintings there
which made my day!
Having coffee with a magazine full of countryside images and flower paintings all around.... bliss!

As for the shopping part,
I made some purchases I'm very happy with,
but this has to wait for another post.

~~~~~
Hope you all have a gorgeous weekend!
Glad you were able to turn a boring essential trip to the city into a restorative couple of hours of shopping and sipping!
That does indeed sound blissful. I'm interested in knowing what kind of coffee drink you were enjoying? It looks delightful. The flower paintings are gorgeous.
Enjoy your weekend.
Aaahh - seems you've mastered the art of turning a negative into a positive! :) Sounds like lovely time spent in the cafe! Have a nice weekend!
That poem is just too neat! You could write a whole book based on that one little find. I'm already picturing the girl, creating her story...
Her name is Leah :)
Hello Yiota, Glad that you had a nice ending to your trip to the city. I had such a lovely surprise this morning when my mum handed your letter to me!! Thank you so much for thinking about me and sending to me all those lovely things! The paintings are great and inspiring and everything else is so cute! Gorgeous butterfly stickers! Not sure how the exams are going so far - sometimes when I think I have done ok, I am disappointed, and visa versa! Thank you for your thoughts and wonderful surprise!
That's all I need today after spending the whole day at the language school... I'm so tired today, but happy as I did what I love to.
Thanks for sharing this piece of your day with us, dear friend.
About the poem... I loved the last line... I think sometimes each one of us feel like that, too. Going to places searching for someone who existed or perhaps just lives in our dreams...
Have a gorgeous weekend :)
Glad your trip was made bearable with a gorgeous stop off at this lovely looking cafe. You have one of my favourite magazines there too - I subscribe to that one each month and look forward to its appearance in my postbox.
Hope you are having a super weekend.
What a wonderful cafe. I especially love the penciled poem. And that you noticed it.
