hello, hello, and welcome to my little place!
how're you all doing?
we've been very busy lately over here;
we all travelled east on Wednesday to find a new nest for little one and me;
I'll be working at two schools, in two villages
and we've found the cutest, most adorable place to stay- more on that when we've settled in.
little one is now officially enrolled at kindergarten
and schools start for both of us next Monday the 13th.
I'm typing this at home, surrounded by suitcases and cardboard boxes
and a general mess;
moving-day is on Thursday and hubby's going to stay for a few days before he comes back here alone.
~~~~~~
now, the pictures below show the river that runs right out my doorstep;
well, not literally; it's about a-five-minute walk away! oh, yes, indeed!
I took the pictures at a nearby village, but it's the same, beautiful river.
the first thing I took out when we came back here was little one's wellies;
great spot for a picnic, right?
Oh Yiotta it looks so beautiful - IU hope you and little one will both be very happy in your new home and schools too! I thought of you this morning as I changed my pillowslips and put yours on the bed! We will miss you whilst you are incommunicado but will look forward to hearing all about your new life when you get the internet fixed up. Will be thinking of you.
Love
Jane
It looks wonderful, Yiota. I wish you much happiness and joy in the months to come.
Yes, a lovely spot for a picnic! I'm glad you've started exploring already, and brought us along. Life certainly is an adventure.
I hope your move goes quickly and smoothly.
Indeed - it is beautiful. Lots of changes at your end. I hope you and little one both enjoy your new beginnings this school year :)
It must be such a relief to have found somewhere lovely to stay whilst your away from your other half - the countryside on your doorstep looks beautiful.
I wish you all the best for the start of a new season.
It sounds like a beautiful place... I'm glad of that for you! I hope and pray it's temporary.
May I ask, why is this something you have so little control over? I'm embarrassed to say I don't understand the Greek system enough to understand this situation you've been forced into.
I truly hope your family will grow stronger and closer than ever through it...
Don't be embarrassed; I don't quite get it either!!! Supposedly, when a civil servant is first appointed, she/he is sent far away from the centre, to the least popular posts so that more central ones are given to people with more years on the job; pretty much everyone starts like that, but mostly teachers. This place was actually among those I requested - the closest one they could give me. That was two years ago; I was here for two years on a temporary basis because my mum was sick, and now I need to go work there to be intitled to asking to be brought closer. I can ask for a new post (I have a choice of many perfectures) by the end of the school year but this doesn't mean I'll get one; it depends on who else is interested -based on the years they've worked. I'm quite new in the public sector -this is my fourth year. I can always ask for a temporary move.
I hope it makes some sense. I'm considered lucky here as it's just my first year away from home (I was on maternity leave the first year)
What a blessed place, Yiota !
It reminds me Beatrix Potter tales (Peter Rabbit) with all this nature surrounding you... I can hear the water running down through the pebbles...
I'm sure you'll be so happy in this magical place of the world :)
