randomness

Last month, Cassie tagged me with a couple of awards.
If you've read this, you know I'm not a huge fan of awards, although I don't mind them either.
Part of the award-posts is usually answering a few questions about yourself; and that's the fun part.
So, today I've decided to mingle things a bit - why can't I ever stick to the rules?- and think of some answers from each post.
Care to find out more about me?
All aboard...
~~~~~~
1. What books are you currently reading?
Marcia Willett - Second Time Around; good for lazy afternoons
2. What is your all time favourite film and why?
You've Got Mail : a sweet children's bookstore, a shabby chic apartment, lovely music, romance, beautiful photography, Tom Hanks.
3. What is the one place that you really want to visit that you haven't been to before?
Scotland, Scotland, Scotland,....
-any invitations from my friends out there? ;)
4. What is something fun and inspiring you have seen online lately and would like to share with us all?
See my 'love these' list on my sidebar.
5. What do you do when you're bored?
I read, blog, watch TV, crochet...
6. Are you an autumn or spring?
Mostly spring, but autumn is a close second; I get tired with summer(because of the heat) and I don't mind winter. (if there are teachers reading, they probably think the last part is irrelevant and unnecessary!!!)
7. Jane Austen or Emily Bronte?
Definitely Jane Austen.
8. What phrase has stuck with you in your life?
Carpe Diem (Seize the Day) from the film Dead Poets' Society.
~~
That's it with me. How about answering a couple of the questions in the comments section? Just write the number and your answer...
or just wave 'hello'.
~~~~~~
the photos show some of 'my today' moments;
little one doing crafts while I sip coffee and read, watering the plants, a bit of baking... slow...

I've not seen You've got mail - perhaps I should give it a go. Though I may be alittle Tom Hanks'd out, as Violet has been watching Toy Story & Toy Story 2 on a loop now for months - my little girl is OBSESSED with Buzz Lightyear and even made her daddy kiss her toy Buzz goodbye before he went to work this morning - OK, too much information.

(7) I definitely prefer Jane Austen to Emily Bronte.

Looks like a lovely day you're having there.

3. Istanbul - I haven't been to Scotland either and that is next on my list!

8 This above all to thine own self be true - written in my autograph book by my mother nearly 60 years ago!

Hi Yiota
Sorry it's taken me so long to find you when you've left such lovely comments over at mine!
Carpe Diem - great phrase, from a fab film which I haven't seen for years...must watch it again!
Best wishes to you x

Sounds like your days are those of the 'crazy, hazy, lazy days of summer'! Lovely days in fact. Great to see your answers and that is why I love these tag posts rather than award ones too, you get to find out a little more about your favourite bloggers!
Hope the rest of your week is great.
xx

I love reading people's answers to these award questions-it is like having a little conversation-or part of one!
It sounds as if you are enjoying your summer too!
I am currently reading 'Wolf Hall' by Hilary Mantell-it is excellent-all about Thomas Cromwell.
My phrase came into my head as I read-and is very appropriate for how I feel this week at the end of the term-'Sit down before you fall down'-my Nana used to say it all the time!
All time favourite film-'Withnail and I'-so funny and poignant and I have watched it so many times and never get sick of it.
I am really hardly ever bored-seriously-I have far too many things to do and so never have the time!
Hope you continue to have random lovely days of summer!

Hooray for being so creative as to make your awards a pleasure. It is fascinating to read the things you write about yourself so my picture of you gets clearer!
I will come along to Scotland with you!!

#2 I LOVE THAT MOVIE! Definitely one of my favorites, too! Although, I still find it very upsettting that the big store AND the big store owner won in the end. Her little shop was so ideal!

#7 I don't know who I would pick! It would depend on my mood. Austen is definitely more witty and Bronte is certainly more haunting... but I get equally enraptured in their books!

I love You've Got Mail. Best movie ever!!! I've written about my love of it more than once...

Jane Austen for sure. Bronte is too dark and brooding.

Carpe Diem! Love it. I adored Dead Poets' Society. I graduated high school a couple of years after it came out, and was thrilled to discover that "Carpe diem!" was our school motto (why did I not know that before?!)

I love You've Got Mail. It's one of those movies that I can watch over and over.

Also, definitely Jane Austen. Love her.

For the place, I'd say the Galapagos Islands. I will visit someday.
