Canning and Preserving

It's been fruit and veggie paradise around here these days so I thought I should make something for winter now that everything is in abundance. I had some lovely plums and a few pears from my dad's orchand and made this yum, yum, yummy marmalade!

The colour is so rich as well.

Then I made more tomato sauce. This time I added garlic, basil, zucchini, green peppers, red sweet peppers , mix of peppers (spices), salt and olive oil.

While waiting for everything to boil... see post below....

(I don't know how to add pictures below the ones I've already added and dragging them is not always easy)

beautiful. for some reason I've had the mindset that when I do canning I feel like i need to make a huge batch ... so I don't do it very often. Perhaps I should change my mindset! :)

I love that kind of weather: Cloudy and breezy with a suspicion of rain. Sounds like Jane Austen's view of the weather!

Oh I am a bit jealous-not being a very good cook, but loving jams and preserves! These look good.
Thanks for your comment! My students are 3 and 4. In nursery, or Foundation Stage 1 as it is called here, I teach all areas of learning though play! I also do Forest School-learning outside using the environment.
You are a teacher too? What age children do you teach?

Looks yummy especially the tomato sauce. I used to do a lot of this sort of thing but seem to have got lazy in my old age. Must get my preserving pan out, dust it off and make something!

Thanks for your kind comments on my blog and I am glad you like the french life posts too.

The tomato sauce looks delicious, something I wouldn't have thought of making but do use a lot of so it would be useful.

Thank you for your kind comments on my photos!
